Waste Minimisation

What waste can be minimised?

Minimising waste produced on site during the life cycle of a building benefits the environment and makes sound business sense. By incorporating materials with a high recycled content in the design, construction and even demolition phase of a building, it means that many of the materials used on site can be used for alternative projects later in their lives.

Reducing the waste on site and incorporating the use of ‘grey water’ – treating and reusing rain water - in the home can help reduce the demand for water and the amount of waste generated by the build

Why minimise waste?

Waste minimisation doesn’t only benefit the environment it makes business sense as well. Using materials that have high recycled contents needn’t cost anymore. Furthermore, modern methods of construction can be highly efficient so greatly reducing waste on site. Lastly, once the home is occupied using ‘grey water’ can reduce demand for water by as much as 50 per cent so lowering your bills.
