Why make a home intelligent?
Intelligent system in a home can have many benefits. For instance, there is an increasing demand for people to work from home, creating demand for advanced home office systems. For the more conventional worker, precise control and monitoring of heating can ensure that the house is warm when you return from work or holiday and save money at other times. The intelligent systems in the Irlam Project allow you to control your house using your mobile phone. So for instance, you will be immediately notified if the security systems detect an intruder. Alternatively if your partner or children are locked out of the house you can let them in with a simple text message no matter where you are.
